Summary: The objective of the WG is to discuss aspects of teacher education for the professional education modality, in the contexts, closely related, of contemporaneity and the legal provisions regarding this subject, in Brazil. Characteristics of contemporaneity, of the relationship between historical context, public policies, laws, and social practices, besides the current conditions of the formation, will be approached. The WG will welcome the presentation of results of studies and research or experiences and successful proposals of innovation on the training of teachers for professional education.
